This first Latin Mass of the semester was a particularly vital one for the university’s new chapter of Juventutem, which became an official club a few weeks prior began their first Traditional Mass of the Semester with a standing room only Church
Juventutem-Franciscan, which had received an overwhelming amount of interest at the university’s “Club Fair” the previous week, hosted a reception after the Mass to draw attention to the Latin Mass community on campus.
In its few weeks of existence, the club has gathered a mailing list of over 80 and a discussion group of almost 100, and it is clear that there is a large amount of interest in tradition among this year’s freshman class, pictured is the Rev Vincent Huber

Ordinariate Mass in Philadelphia to Celebrate Newman Canonization, October 15
On Tuesday, October 15th, a solemn Mass in the Ordinariate Use will take place at the Cathedral Basilica of Ss Peter and Paul in Philadelphia, to celebrate the canonization of Bl. John Henry Newman. The vicar general of the Ordinariate of the Chair of St Peter, Father Timothy Perkins, will celebrate and preach; a polyphonic choir will sing Harold Darke’s Communion in F for the Ordinary, and a chancel schola will sing the Propers of Mass in Gregorian chant. The Mass will begin at 7pm; the cathedral is located at 1723 Race Street.

Many a pagan has been converted over the years by witnessing the holy lives of the missionaries the Church sent them. Our American Indians were shocked at the sanctity manifested by the missionaries of the Society of Jesus, especially as manifested by their celibate chastity, which seemed superhuman to the natives. “Savages” could see the sanctity of the Church as manifested in her missionaries. That is what a “note” is!
