This Vigil of the Sacred Heart brings us to a second refutation of Divine Mercy teachings in our continuing study of the infallible teachings of Roman Catholicism
We start off by mentioning that the new Rite Breviary (1975) has retained First Vespers of the Sacred Heart this evening since it is a 1st class Solemnity on Friday and the divine office is a very nice office
For Friday’s Sacred Heart Solemnity there will be sung Masses at HI, the Pontifical Shrine OLMC NY, and low Masses for the Solemnity at The Officer’s Club Chapel on Lexington, St Agnes NY, St Anthony Padua West Orange and St Anthony of Padua N.Caldwell . This feast at the end of our Easter /Pentecost cycle is the sum total of Catholic teaching on the Incarnation/hypostasis and the relationship between the perfect human in the Mother of all Mothers and our Savior and is strategically placed after and in close proximity to the Feast and the Octaves of Corpus Christi for good reason
Footnote ____Posted online are beautiful photographs of Corpus Christi Thursday from the Diocesan Parish of Saint Pius X from Fairfield Conn as they began their Latin Mass program with the first Traditional Rite Mass since the Council with over 300 attendees and a procession. If you are a blog commenter you can welcome home their reversion to Tradition online You Report: First TLM since Vatican II in Connecticut church – On Rorate https://rorate-caeli.blogspot.com/2018/06/you-report-first-tlm-since-vatican-ii.html#more
Also we were reminded following the Octave Mass of Corpus Christi yesterday at Holy Innocents & Shrine of the Unborn during the beautiful 3rd outdoor Procession and Octave last night that yesterday was the 3rd day of the nine day Novena to Saint Anthony of Padua making today the 4th day of the Novena.
Traditionally for any important Saint’s Feast the Novena ends the day before the Feast and the opening of the Feast itself or prior to Mass is reserved for the Sacrament of Penance in order to receive the Plenary Indulgence on the day of. Increasingly in Novus Ordo parishes the novena ends of the day of the Feast – the opening suspends Sacrament of Penance – in many there are no Confessionals anymore and the local Priest recommends – to confess your venial sins directly to God – invalidating the ability to receive a Plenary Indulgence,
The Plenary Indulgence can be gotten even if joining the Novena late in the 9 days if through no blatant omission on the part of the penitent (through no fault of one’s own) Another way to gain the same full Indulgence is to attend Mass at Parish whose titular Feast of the same name (St Anthony of Padua )
Today’s Catholic religion is attempting to be changed in many ways by our hierarchy The slow abolishment of the Sacrament of Penance, the involvement of the laity in the distribution of Holy Communion , the Chalice distribution of the Blood of Christ as separate from the Body of Christ which was thrice formally condemned by Roman Catholicism as false ecumenism with Calvinsim, the Mass as sacrifice of praise and thanksgiving rather than what Catholicism teaches which is a Holy Sacrifice of Calvary in a propitiation and substitutionary oblation for sin.
It’s all based on an illegal overthrow to what the Catholic Church holds to be true on justification vs. sin and grace . It’s false ecumenism with Episcopalianism, and evangelical Lutheranism and promotion of intercommunion without conversion wherever possible It necessitates the absolute requirement to abolish requiem Masses for the dead, purgatory, veneration of relics, and indulgences and most of all the central roll of the Queen of Heaven in the relationship between humanity and divinity in the economy of Salvation The new religion also puts sin at the level of personal interpretation & discernment in removing the central roll of the Church as the Body of Christ – en persona Christi – of the Priest – who mediates all things between humanity and the Body of Christ
The majority of which is contained within Saint Faustina’s teachings on Divine Mercy which is a protestant Trojan horse that has been wheeled into the Churches as the mascot of the Council – It’s so attractive and so new and different to Catholics for one reason Because it’s not Catholic It’s a challenge to the core of Roman Catholic teaching on Justification, temporal punishment , and the economy of intercession to remediate temporal punishment , through veneration, pilgrimages, relics, specified prayers on certain days, and indulgences. Saint Faustina prophesized that this theology would bring about an ecumenical intercommunion with other religions in each region, (minus of course repentance , conversion, and continued reparation – parenthesis mine )

Why we need divine mercy in the new religion ?
Jeffrey Tranzillo – tells us in this Crisis Journal article quoting Pope Francis encyclical
Since divine grace has sometimes proven insufficient to help us meet our present-day challenges, God has finally realized that he must accommodate his moral expectations to our “weakness”; therefore, he might now tell us, in conscience, that we are not bound to obey his commandments amid the “concrete complexity of [our] limits” (AL, 303). T
This is essentially where the Divine Mercy theology takes us, as to where that miracle evangelical Lutheran day of Divine Mercy Sunday becomes not just this rare exception of a vehicle to introduce this new theology into Catholicism but to become the new-Catholicism norm

In terms of post Vatican –II neo-Catholic theology
“It is perhaps not accidental that Pope John Paul II promoted this devotion, for it is very much in line with his encyclical Dives in Misericordia. In fact, the Paschal Mystery theology that he taught pushed aside all consideration of the gravity of sin and the need for penance, for satisfaction to divine justice, and hence of the Mass as being an expiatory sacrifice, and likewise the need to gain indulgences and to do works of penance.”
And there you have it

Why Did The Holy Office Condemn Divine-Mercy – Original Piece Written By CMRI Fr. Benedict Hughes (and only republished through Novus Ordo Watch in pdf format – a site we don’t advocate for )
Key comparison of the Sacred Heart theology and devotion – Divine Mercy is a second baptism the theology maintains and the Sacrament of Penance removes not only all eternal punishment but all temporal punishments – which even eliminates future Sacramental confessions of venial sin to remediate temporal sin-

Not covered in detail here but of significant overlap with neo-catechumen and charismatic theology there is also the negative impact of pilgrimages , shrines , and the veneration of relics against the economy of temporal punishment that we were always working down prior to the new Catholic religion
Against The Contrasting Heretical Statements In The Pope’s Encyclical
“Unity of teaching and practice is certainly necessary in the Church, but this does not preclude various ways of interpreting some aspects of that teaching or drawing certain consequences from it. This will always be the case as the Spirit guides us towards the entire truth (cf. Jn 16:13), until he leads us fully into the mystery of Christ and enables us to see all things as he does. Each country or region, moreover, can seek solutions better suited to its culture and sensitive to its traditions and local needs.”

Conversion: A dirty word
Brother Alois further explains Brother Roger’s novel approach: “To speak in terms of `conversion’ is not to understand the originality of what Brother Roger was seeking. The word `conversion’ is weighed down with history; `conversion’ implies a break with your origins. Brother Roger accepted that for some an individual conversion might be a way, but for himself and for our community he preferred to speak of communion.

Church Reasons to Condemn the Divine Mercy Devotion by Msgr. Patrick Perez
http://www.traditioninaction.org/HotTopics/f072_DivMercy.htm
Also additional commentary as follows
Thank you, Msgr. Perez and TIA, for the Divine Mercy Devotion warning. For a long time I have had reservations about, especially since, like you, Monsignor, I felt an immediate repulsion toward the picture.
Also, at my Church (before I left the Novus Ordo) , it was the charismatic “Catholics” that immediately took it up and began to push it. I list below some other strange things – in addition to the ones you mentioned – in the Divine Mercy in my Soul Diary by Sister Faustina Kowalski, which is why I have avoided it.
- “When the priest approached me again, I raised the host for him to put back into the chalice, because when I had first received Jesus I could not speak before consuming the host, and so could not tell Him that the other host had fallen. But while I was holding the host in my hand, I felt such a power of love that for the rest of the day I could neither eat nor come to my senses. I heard these words from the host: I desired to rest in your hands, not only in your heart.” (p. 89)
- Jesus tells her “You are a sweet grape and a chosen cluster; I want others to have a share in the juice that is flowing within you.” (p. 176)
- He also tells her “For your sake I will withhold the hand which punishes; for your sake I will bless the Earth.” (p. 191)
- And this: “And know this, too, My daughter: All creatures, whether they know it or not, and whether they want to or not, always fulfill My will … My daughter, if you wish, I will this instant create a new world, more beautiful than this one, and you will live there for the rest of your life.” (p. 247)
- Jesus says: “For many souls will turn back from the gates of Hell and worship My mercy.” (page 260)
- He also says: “If they will not adore My mercy, they will perish for all eternity” (page 347) and, on the same lines, “I desire that My mercy be worshipped.” (page 382)
On the presumption of Sister Faustina in announcing her holiness, there is also this:
- Christ supposedly told her: “Tell the Superior General to count on you as the most faithful daughter in the Order.”(p. 417)
- Faustina writes: “When I took the Messenger of the Sacred Heart into my hand and read the account of the canonization of St. Andrew Bobola, my soul was instantly filled with a great longing that our congregation, too, might have a saint and I wept like a child that there was no saint in our midst. And I said to the Lord, ‘I know your generosity, and yet it seems to me that you are less generous towards us.’ And I began again to weep like a little child. And the Lord Jesus said to me, ‘Don’t cry. You are that saint.’”(p. 583)
- After receiving Communion, Sr. Faustina said, “Jesus transform me into another host!… You are a great and all-powerful Lord; you can grant me this favor. And the Lord answered me, ‘You are a living host.’” (p. 643)
We can also see why John Paul II wanted to promote this devotion because Jesus supposedly told Sr. Faustina this: “I bear a special love for Poland, and if she will be obedient to My will, I will exalt her in might and holiness. From her will come forth the spark that will prepare the world for My final coming.”(p. 612) This has been interpreted to mean that God’s chosen person was John Paul II, the Polish Pope. In fact, he is often called the Divine Mercy Pope.
Finally, I would like to point out that I know priests who have told their faithful to pray the Divine Mercy chaplet to replace the Rosary because there are so many more graces to be received from it, and it is more beneficial for these times. This seems to me a distraction from the message of Fatima, where Our Lady told us to pray the Rosary daily. She repeated this instruction with urgency at each apparition.
In our family, we continue to do as Our Lady requested, to pray the Rosary and make reparation for our sins and the increasing blasphemies against her Immaculate Heart. This is the safe and sure path.
D.D.

Daily Consecration Prayer To The Sacred Heart Of Jesus
O Sacred Heart of Jesus filled with Infinite Love , broken by our ingratitude and pierced by our sins, yet loving us still, accept the consecration we make to You of all that we are and we have.
Take every faculty of our souls and bodies, only day by day draw us nearer and nearer to Your Sacred Heart, and there as we shall bear the lesson, teach us Your Holy Way. Amen
