For the changing of the seasons
Many people and families that are earnestly trying to live out the Traditional Catholic Rites, raise their children in the authentic Faith, and be part of the on-going restoration, recognize the importance of the moments of the changing of the seasons in the praying at least two of the Divine Offices of the Liturgy of the Hours per day, and or in conjunction with the Holy Rosary and the Angelus, want to know when post Christmas / Epiphany season ends and pre lent begins
Well despite the beautiful and acceptable variations such as The Little Office of the Blessed Virgin, Mary, The traditional Roman Breviary, the four Volume set of the LOTH, and Christian Prayer- “Christmas/Epiphany Season” goes to the 2nd Vespers of the Purification of the Blessed Mother where the blood of two slaughtered turtle doves are offered for the Purification of the Blessed Mother in her return to the temple as the child Jesus our Savior is presented to the High Priest Zachariah as prepared by Ana the temple’s prophetess and Her Heart and Soul are also prepared for the Sacrifice and for “the change” of the Temple – 02/02.
As you know the February 2nd is a Julian Calendar (fixed date) Feast, otherwise known as Candlemas, where families bring their special candles for their houses to be blessed at this Mass as it is an important seasonal swing or pivot date
This year it falls on a Monday and every traditional friendly Church, Chapel, and Oratory will be offering a Solemn High Mass for this occasion (will post the area High Masses & Events in separate news listing)
Easter however, as you know from the merged calendars of astronomical & liturgical time of our Faith is of a Gregorian Calendar nature ( moveable lunar date) Therefore this Sunday, the day before the Purification is Septuagesima Sunday, 70 days marker from Easter, otherwise known as the start of pre-lent falls coincidentally the day before the Purification
So with that early start, a day before the Purification many wish to know where to end Christmas season prayers in their family and where to begin the dimming, purging and preparation towards > 40 days of Fast that begins on Wednesday 02/18/15–
It would be Sunday night – the vespers known in the new rite as Evening Prayer II of Sunday or the Evening Prayer I of the Purification
Sing this with your families after the Sun goes down on Sunday evening, to lead your prayers and Psalms with just as we all did on the first Vespers of Advent and your souls will begin to remember who they are We are not a peoples to be attending other strange Christian religion’s services or to be getting words or strange concepts from alien lands
We are a covenantal peoples not only graphted and adopted but the only remaining path into the promised land and we are not meant to visit other Christian religions ceremonies or talks or anything else they have for that matter Within us is the light of the Truth only by LIVING IT OUT CAN IT BE SEEN – HEARD AND LIVED BY OTHERS
In Scripture in Matthew 15 Jesus says we must become that light by fulfilling the whole law, from inside to an outside shining light
“Neither do men light a candle and put it under a bushel, but upon a candlestick, that it may shine to all that are in the house. 16So let your light shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father who is in heaven.17Do not think that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets. I am not come to destroy, but to fulfill. 18For amen I say unto you, till heaven and earth pass, one jot, or one tittle shall not pass of the law, till all be fulfilled.

Lyric translations
Psalm 129 in the our old version bibles 130 in the newer ones
Not only to sing with your families but to share with Priests who have been contaminated with false ideological understandings
As we sing The De Profundis in the cold as we leave the Theophany for the penitential, and your soul will begin to remember who it is
Latin
De profundis clamavi ad te Domine:
Domine exaudi vocem meam.
Fiant aures tuae intendentes
in vocem deprecationis meae.
Si iniquitates observaveris Domine:
Domine quis sustinebit.
Quia apud te propitiatio est:
et propter legem tuam sustinui te Domine.
Sustinuit anima mea in verbo ejus:
speravit anima mea in Domino.
A custodia matutina usque ad noctem,
speret Israel in Domino.
Quia apud Dominum misericordia:
et copiosa apud eum redemptio.
Et Ipse redimet Israel
ex omnibus iniquitatibus ejus.

Out of the depths have I cried unto Thee, O Lord.
Lord, hear my voice:
Let This ears be attentive
to the voice of my supplications.
If Thous, Lord, shouldnst mark iniquities,
O Lord, who shall stand?
But there is forgiveness with Thee,
that thou mayest be feared.
I wait for the Lord, my soul doth wait,
and in His word do I hope.
More than they that watch for the morning,
let Israel hope in the Lord.
For with the Lord there is mercy,
and with Him is plenteous redemption.
And He shall redeem Israel
from all his iniquities.
